Mary Timony-guitar, vocals
Christina Billottee-bass, vocals
Original text from ladyofthefire.com:
Christina Billotte was on bass and vocals, and was the unsaid leader of the band, with most of the songs forming in her direction. Christina sang most of the songs, and herstyle of music writing is apparent in her later bands. She went on to front Slant 6 playing guitar, a trio, which released two albums and a single on Dischord. She is currently involved with a trio named Qiox*o*tic, which also includes her sister Mira. Mira is the cover girl on the Autoclave ten-inch, as well as name of the label that put out the vinyl of the ten-inch. [Mira is now in White Magic, Christina was also in the Casual Dots after Quix*o*tic broke up].
Mary Timony was on “lead” guitar and vocals. Mary’s songwriting added a softer, dreamier side to the band, which is apparent on the very Timony-esque “I’ll Take You Down”. Mary was going to college during Autoclave and would tour on her breaks.
Nikki Chapman was on guitar and vocals. She later went on to become a member of Rastro! With Donna Dresch, a band that put out singles on Mira and Simple Machines records.
Melissa Berkoff played the drums. I don’t know very much about her except Mary mentioned she was living down South in an interview once.
