Over fifteen TWENTY years ago when the internet wasn’t 2.0 and dial-up was the norm, I hobbled together a site called Lady of the Fire, about Ms. Timony. I didn’t really know html, how to code, or even how to design, but I thought then that Mary fans deserved some sort of place to read and look at her latest works. I still think that, obviously, because even though I learned a little code along the way, it is still very much a labor of love.
Unfortunately, I didn’t save all of my original files from that site though there is some original photos and text here and there. Chalk it up to my OCD librarian/archivist side, or just old-lady fangirl side, but I did save a lot of random stuff along the years since lof.com.
I tried to make the site something I would want to go to, but please let me know if you have suggestions. With the advent of Facebook, and things like Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, etc. it’s super easy these days to keep on top of news and interact with the band. So maybe a site like this is a dead breed—maybe not. I made the site for myself and a handful of people I knew that would appreciate it, but my hope is that it’s a resource for old and new Mary fans alike.
**2020 update note: Again, if you’ve visited this site before you’ll know it’s missing some stuff from before, and again, I lost some stuff in a hosting transfer debacle. Lessons learned: have multiple backups. I’m going to be adding back as much as I can salvage/find though! Stay tuned.**
I love contributions, too!
